TRADING CARD GRADING

As well as comics, CGC also grade trading cards. The popularity of trading cards has grown significantly since the release of Magic: The Gathering in 1993 and Pokémon TCG in 1996. With prices for many early and rare cards increasing substantially in recent years, trading card collectors want to be completely confident that their cards are genuine, accurately graded and preserved.

 

Every card certified by CGC is graded by the most experienced and trusted team, according to well-established grading standards. Furthermore, every CGC-certified card undergoes a thorough restoration check by leading professionals during the certification process. When restoration is detected, it is fully noted on the certification label.

 

Once certified by CGC, a card is encapsulated in a state-of-the art, tamper-evident holder, providing superior protection and stability for long-term preservation.

 

Your cards will be packaged then shipped fully insured on your behalf to CGC in Florida, USA. Once they reach destination, they will be officially graded, authenticated and encased. Once completed they are shipped back to us (still fully insured). 

 

Once your cards are back with us in the UK they will be posted back to you via a 'signed for and tracked' courier service. Turnaround times vary considerably based on CGC'c workload at the time of submission.

ALL ITEMS ARE INSURED FOR THE STATED MAXIMUM MARKET VALUE THE CUSTOMER SUBMITS THE ITEM/S UNDER AND NOT THE CGC GRADED MARKET VALUE.

  1. CURRENTLY CGC ARE ONLY ACCEPTING MAGIC THE GATHERING OR POKEMON TSG CARDS.

  2. EACH SUBMISSION TIER MUST BE ON A SEPARATE FORM. WE COMBINE SHIPPING WHEN YOU SUBMIT MULTIPLE TIERS. ITEMS ARE SHIPPED BACK TO YOU ONCE YOUR COMPLETE ORDER HAS BEEN RETURNED.

  3. PLEASE NOTE THAT THERE IS A £2.00 CHARGE FOR GRADER NOTES.

  4. NO P. O. BOXES ADDRESSES WILL BE ACCEPTED

  5. ANY ITEM SUBMITTED WITHOUT THE REQUESTED INFORMATION WILL BE CHARGED A £2.00 SERVICE FEE CHARGE PER CARD.

  6. ALL SUBMISSIONS MUST HAVE COMPLETED FORMS.

As of 1st January 2021, parcels between the UK and Europe are subject to customs and duty fees. If you live in an EU country you must complete the form below to submit items through us.

TRADING CARD GRADING  Ts & Cs

  1. Please note that Grading is conducted solely by CGC. Scott’s Collectables does not guarantee and is not responsible for any grading discrepancies. Should you be unhappy with the Grade of your item, please contact CGC directly. Contact details can be found of their website www.cgccomics.com.  
     

  2. Scott's Collectables is an authorised dealer and facilitator for CGC. Liability commences with Scott's Collectables when your items are in our possession and until they are returned and 'signed-for' by you or others authorised by you at the address provided on the Scott's Collectables CGC Submission Form. Scott's Collectables is not responsible for any damage, loss or negligence which occurs outside of this time period. 
     

  3. During transit all items are insured under our policy. This policy insures up to £60,000.
     

  4. Damage during transit must be reported to Scott's Collectables (via info@scottscollectables.co.uk) within 5 working days of delivery to the address you provided.
     

  5. Customers who choose to ship items to Scott's Collectables will do so securely so that items do not incur damage through inadequate packing. We advise that you send these items 'signed-for' in order to track your items journey to us.
     

  6. Scott's submission forms are designed to be filled in on a computer. If you choose to complete by hand, customers agree to fill out Scott's Collectables Submission Forms clearly and completely in BLOCK CAPITALS. Forms will not be submitted if hand written text is incomplete or illegible. If a mistake is made, please place a single line though the text and continue in the next available space. If unsure, please complete a new form, following the guidelines above.
     

  7. Please visit the CGC website for up to date turnaround times. CGC ‘turn-around’ times are subject to change and are dependent on CGC’s workload. Scott’s Collectables does not have any influence on these ‘turn-around’ times and are therefore not responsible for any changes. We will endeavor to keep you up to date with any changes, but please see the CGC website for further information. 
     

  8. Should you be dissatisfied with any aspect of the service provided by Scott’s Collectables, please contact us via info@scottscollectables.co.uk within 5 working days of receipt of goods and we will endeavor to address the problem.
     

  9. Prices are correct at time of going to press but are subject to change.
     

  10. Customers agree that when payment is made for any Scott's Collectables service, they are agreeing to all terms and conditions laid out in items 1-10.
