JAMES TYNION IV

James has built a career in comics on the bedrock of Gotham City.

He started his career co-writing back-up stories in the New 52 run of Batman, stepped up to being a showrunner of the weekly series Batman Eternal, and Batman & Robin Eternal, and from there to a long, acclaimed run on Detective Comics during DC Rebirth, and writing the New York Times Bestselling Batman/Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles trilogy. He has now taken the helm of writing the main Batman title, where he has created dynamic new characters like Punchline, Clownhunter, and The Designer.

He is also well known for creator-owned series like Something is Killing the Children, Memetic, and The Woods. He has been nominated five times for the GLAAD Media Award for Outstanding Comic Book, and won once. He has several projects in development for film and television.
