RACHAEL STOTT
Rachael Stott is an award winning artist based in the UK.
She is best known for her sequential interior work and covers for clients such as DC Comics, Marvel, Image and many others.
In her career so far Rachael has worked on many high profile properties for these clients, such as Fantastic Four, Doctor Who, Supergirl, Star Wars and Spider-man.
She has collaborated on several creator owned projects with writer Chip Zdarsky, including 'The Domain' for Image, and more recently 'White House Robot Romance'.
What was the first comic you bought?
Probably the Beano, which is a kids jokey magazine in the UK that's been going for about five hundred years. I sound very old but I swear it used to cost 50p or something amazing.
Favourite character to draw?
I'm a sucker for any superhero, I just love them. And there's always a going to be ones you haven't had a go at yet. Recently drew Mr Terrrific and that's an amazing costume, really good fun to draw.
Biggest artistic influences?
My dad is really into fine art and is a really talented landscape painter himself, so I've been lucky to have parents who would take me to galleries and encourage me to draw and paint since I was very little. But then when I was a kid I picked up a Spiderman comic really randomly from a spinner rack, and it's just been a full time obsession for comics since then.
Favourite convention snack?
Wherever I go for cons I love finding weird soda flavours. Soda is a snack.
