PAOLO VILLANELLI

Paolo Villanelli is an Italian comic artist known for his precise line work and dynamic style.

His work for Marvel comics includes Iron Man, Daredevil, Asgardians of the Galaxy, and Fantastic Four but he is most well known for his time in the Star Wars Universe on titles such as Rogue One, Darth Vader: Dark Visions, Lando, Double or Nothing and Star Wars: Bounty Hunters.

He is currently working with Stephanie Phillips on Spider Gwen: Ghost Spider as well as other cover commissions.

What was the first comic you bought?

Many Mickey Mouse magazines before I could even read, but Amazing Spider-Man 341 and Batman 419 are the first American comics I had, can't remember which came first, so let's call it a tie!

Favourite character to draw?

Sooo many! Flash, Batman, Venom, Wolverine and loads of manga characters!

Biggest artistic influences?

Stuart Immonen, Olivier Coipel, Mignola, John Paul Leon, Tsutomu Nihei, Kentaro Miura and many others.

Favourite convention snack?

Pizza or Babe Ruth, depending on the mood.
