MARCO MASTRAZZO
Marco made his debut on comic book covers with Dylan Dog Color Fest #20 in 2016.
Over the years, he established himself in the American market, producing dozens of covers for major publishers such as Marvel, DC Comics, BOOM! Studios, Image Comics, IDW, Valiant, Dynamite and more. His artwork has featured some of the most iconic characters in pop culture, from Spider-Man and Batman to the quintessential villains Joker, Venom, and many others.
Among his most notable collaborations are projects with Ozzy Osbourne and Panini Comics, which led to a DC Comics cover featuring Ozzy and The Batman Who Laughs.
Outside of comics he has worked with Scuderia Ferrari, Rolling Stone, Lucasfilm, FOX, and Disney, creating illustrations of iconic characters such as Alien, Darth Vader, and Darkwing Duck.
What was the first comic you bought?
I was born into a house full of comics, because my grandfather and father always collected them, so I already had all the comics available at home, and until I was an adult, I didn't need to buy comics hahaha!! The first comic I personally bought was Spiegelman's MAUS.
Favourite character to draw?
Joker, I love crazy people hahaha!!
Biggest artistic influences?
My main influences come more from the world of painting than from the world of comics: Frazetta, Franz Von Stuck, Boldini, Geremy Mann, Phil Hale, Gottfried Helnwein, Beksinski, Nicola Samorì etc etc... there are so many
Favourite convention snack?
I'm not one for eating a lot at conventions, so I don't have a favorite snack. I did, however, love a bourbon-barrel-aged beer they brought me at NYCC, Dragon's Milk. I'd never tried it before.
